This is where the fracture starts.
Not the collapse. Not the chaos. Just the first moment something gives way.
I built this piece back and forth—layering, scraping, covering things up and letting them show through again. The surface holds all of that. It’s not clean because the mind isn’t clean. It’s a record of pressure over time.
That line running through the center came out of that process. It wasn’t planned as a “line”—it showed up as a break. A shift. Like something underneath the surface finally pushed through.
And right in that break is the heat.
That small, glowing form feels like energy being exposed. It could be light, it could be fire, it could be awareness. But it’s contained. It hasn’t spread yet. It’s just there—quiet but undeniable.
The surrounding shapes feel like pieces of something that used to be whole. They’re still connected, but barely. There’s tension between them. That tension is the point.
This painting sits at the beginning of the Fracture series because it doesn’t show destruction—it shows the moment before everything changes. The instant when the structure you’ve built—your identity, your beliefs, your sense of control—starts to crack under pressure.
It’s not dramatic. It’s subtle.
But once it starts, it doesn’t stop.
